BTEC Level 3 Close Protection Operations Professional Development Package

This is the qualification required by the SIA (Security Industry Authority) when applying for your Close Protection Licence.  Licencing came into force throughout the United Kingdom in March 2006 for all Private Close Protection Officers working within the United Kingdom, whether they a UK Citizen or Foreign National who works as a contractor.

The BTEC Level 3 qualification has been built around the SIA’s 150 hours of Core Competency Skills, and is delivered through our strategic business partners PETROC (Formally North Devon College) and the Ministry of Defence.  This partnership enables our students to have full access to learning support provided at National Further Education Level and College resources.

Also available is our CPO Professional Development Bolt On,  at an extra cost the following qualifications can be bolted on to the standard CPO course, BTEC Level 2 Control and Restraint , BTEC Level 2 Break Away techniques, Immediate Emergency Care (Trauma Responder), Fire Marshall, Literacy and Numeracy ( designed to assist with presentations and CV building). This course is also available as a stand alone course.

 The standard course is 15 days in total (Monday – Friday only), is Fully residential and includes all Meals, Materials, Equipment and Certification fees, the Professional Development bolt on runs concurently with the standard course so study days are longer and more intense.    The total cost of the Standard course is £2100.00 as a result of our partnership with North Devon College the qualification attracts a partial funding from central government and is also VAT Exempt…. which means we can deduct these costs from the from the price making this course probably the best value course of it kind available to-date.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To be able to apply for a Front-line Close Protection Licence you need to have passed the BTEC Level 3 qualification and hold a CURRENT H.S.E Approved First Aid at Work Certificate or Higher.
